Another new year, another development roadmap for the year ahead.  Most of our planned 2017 upgrades were successfully carried out and implemented, with a few hiccups along the way as our more regular users were great in highlighting and reporting to us.  We hope you all have reaped the benefits of the new features.

So, what to expect in 2018?  More third party integrations are at the top of the list, particularly with parts suppliers, but also with other online services that may be relevant.  We hope to move on this soon, within the next few weeks to get the ball rolling.  This will be part of a larger upgrade to our inventory system and tracking, which will bring many new features such as invoice-level profit reporting and many other exciting new developments.

In the near future we will be offering live chat customer support, and customers on our unlimited plans will be able to message our support team directly. We will roll out live chat support to other customers for an additional monthly fee later in the year.

Online payments are another area we are looking at in a big way, and the adoption of cryptocurrencies as a payment method both for our software and for you to get paid from your customers.  We anticipate this generating much interest, and we are waiting a little while for the markets to settle, we will be option for a high-speed transaction currency, at the moment Ripple is most suited to this, but the tech changes fast.

Other plans for this year include revising the VIN decoder and providing better data sources for this information. More reporting and cost analysis is on the way too along with useful information on shop performance and profitability, these new features will make your auto repair shop more efficient, part of these upgrades will involve a smoother flow through the system as work is being carried out.

Many of you will be happy to hear that a full upgrade is planned for our Android app, to iron out the bugs and bring it up to date with latest version of our web app. We still currently hold no plans for iOS development as of yet.

As always, stay tuned for updates here on our blog, facebook and twitter.

QuickBooks integration is here!

quickbooksfacek

Requests for integration with QuickBooks has by far been the most requested feature from our users and interested parties, topping the polls consistently.

We are happy to bring you a fully functional QuickBooks Online integration which went live in the early hours of last night.

Our initial implementation currently only supports the QuickBooks Online service, and we are working to get a solution for the Desktop version in the coming week or two.

So, what can you do with our auto repair software and QuickBooks Online?

  • A one-time activation must be done with QuickBooks Online to authorize Auto Repair Bill to manage your QuickBooks data.
  • All newly created invoices and customers on Auto Repair Bill will be sent in realtime to your QuickBooks Online account.
  • New users can import their existing customers from QuickBooks Online into Auto Repair Bill, and have a starting set of clients to work with after signing up.
  • Existing users can export all their historical client and invoice data from Auto Repair Bill into QuickBooks Online, using a one click process.

QuickBooks Integration, the low down

One of top user requests has been for QuickBooks support, and we have been beavering away getting this in place since the new year.

We are happy to say that we now have a functional implementation with QuickBooks Online in place now, still in ‘sandbox’ development, you may have seen QuickBooks appear and disappear in parts of the UI in the past few weeks, this is just a peak of what is yet to come.

Currently, when activated, all new invoices and clients will be exported into QuickBooks.

For existing users, there exists an ability to export all your Auto Repair Bill customers and invoices to QuickBooks Online.

New users can import all there customers from QuickBooks online into Auto Repair Bill.

Our integration will need to be reviewed and approved by QuickBooks before we can make this feature can go live on our app.

Quickbooks support coming soon

QuickBooks support is another highly requested feature, and we are finally getting around to implementing a seamless solution for our auto repair software.

Initial support is planned for QuickBooks Online, and be fully integrated with any action you take on Auto Repair Bill that needs to be uploaded and recorded.  We may add support for the Windows QuickBooks version in the future, if there is a demand for this.  Please do get in touch if you are a user  interested in using with Windows version.

We expect to have this online in a few weeks, as always stay tuned and watch this space!

NEW: Backup all PDF invoices

By far our most requested feature, and of course we have done it again and catered to our customers needs as is part of our ongoing mission  to make our auto repair software as reliable, solid, accurate and user friendly auto repair management software on the market.  You can easily download a full archive of all your invoices created, paid and due, the ZIP archive will contain all invoices in a compressed file for you to download and store locally on your PC or office network.

Auto Repair Software (7)

Exporting your ZIP backup couldn’t be easier, another magic button, just click on the download link, and your download will begin; it is important not to abort the download as it cannot be resumed (at this time), meaning you will have start download again and if you have a lot documents that may take some time to download.

If you are using Google Chrome, which we highly recommend, then your backup is saved locally to Chrome, and you can access your most recent backup with great ease and convenience whenever you need it.  If you are not using Chrome, an alternative download link is presented, which is just a regular ZIP download link. If you receive errors about mutli-volume archive, please ignore, it does not affect the archive contents, we are working on a solution to this as we know the popups can be annoying.

We also have plans for cloud backup service such as Google Drive and Dropbox, we will likely implement Google Drive first.
